Whole Wheat Pizza Dough
Whole Wheat Pizza Dough - Source
- 3/4 cup whole-wheat flour
- 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 package quick-rising yeast, (2 1/4 teaspoons), such as Fleischmann's RapidRise
- 3/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon sugar
- 1/2-2/3 cup hot water, (120-130°F)
- 2 teaspoons extra-virgin olive oil
- In a large bowl place water and add sugar. Sprinkle with yeast and leave until foamy or for about 15 minutes.
- Once yeast has grown and become foamy, add in oil and mix. Then add the salt and flour. If the dough seems sticky add more flour, if it seems dry add a little water. Knead the dough until you get a nice even dough.
- Place dough in a floured bowl and cover. Let rise for an hour or until it doubles in size.
- Roll out dough with a rolling pin, not necessary but it makes it even. Place on a greased pizza pan or cookie sheet.
- Add sauce, toppings and cheese and bake at 425 for about 10-20 minutes or until it looks done! Enjoy!
